M80 start European Tour in CCT Series 3
M80 will commence their journey in CCT East Europe Series 3 today, October 14th, in what marks the beginning of a month with two events on the opposite side of the Atlantic. After CCT Series 3, M80 will compete in the Thunderpick World Championship 2023.
Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa and the boys have Nexus as their first opponents in this European tour. Nexus is a Romanian team, ranked #86 in the world according to HLTV, while the North American squad is ranked #38.
CCT East Europe Series 3 starts today and will run until October 27th, the same date Thunderpick World Championship 2023 is set to start, with its grand final being played on November 5th. M80 will be putting the ESL Challenger League Season 46 NA to the side during this period, getting a lot of practice in, be it against tier two EU teams and below on CCT, or tier one competition on Thunderpick.
M80, so far, is the third highest-ranked team in CCT East Europe Series 3, as the teams invited for the playoffs are yet to be announced. The two teams above M80 are 9 Pandas and Sprout. Other notorious squads participating in the event are 00 Nation, Falcons, FORZE, and MOUZ NXT.
The event has a group stage, featuring a Swiss Bo3 format with 16 teams, where the top eight advance to the playoffs, which features a single-elimination bracket composed of 16 teams. CCT East Europe Series 3 has a $50,000 prize pool.
M80 could have been getting ready to play IEM Sydney 2023 by now, but a loss against Complexity in the grand final of the qualifier denied that, and now the team will enjoy a month in Europe. M80 plays against Nexus today at 11:00AM.
