Former ATK AWPer signs with Alliance
ATK's former Swedish AWPer, Jonathan "b0denmaster" Bodenmalm, has found a new home after two months in free agency, joining Swedish organization Alliance in a roster consisting of his countrymen. The signing sees Alliance become the latest organization to enter into or return to Counter-Strike in recent months, following the likes of M80, TSM, and BetBoom.
The International 2013 winners in Dota 2 have toyed with the idea of entering CS for some time, having briefly hosted an academy team in 2021. This new roster features a number of well-known names in the Swedish scene alongside b0denmaster, including former NIP and fnatic player Simon "twist" Eliasson alongside Swedish journeymen Niclas "PlesseN" Plessen and Robin "robiin" Sjögren.
Both have been in the scene for a number of years, with PlesseN likely most known for his time on Finest in 2022 and fnatic Academy in 2016 while robiin was a key piece of Endpoint during the online era in 2020. robiin also briefly played in North America as a stand-in for Singularity during ESL Pro League Season 10, where he played alongside the likes of Skyler "Relyks" Weaver and Michael "dapr" Gulino.
The final piece of the team, Arvid "avid" Åberg is the unknown quantity on the team, having only started playing professionally in mid-2022.
Alliance consists of:
-
Jonathan "b0denmaster" Bodenmalm
-
Simon "twist" Eliasson
-
Niclas "PlesseN" Plessen
-
Robin "robiin" Sjögren
-
Arvid "avid" Åberg
Alliance will make their debut tomorrow in the Portuguese city of Portimão where they will play a $10k LAN event alongside MIBR, ALTERNATE aTTaX, and For The Win.
