GX ease past ex-Naventic in Dust2.us Masters
The second match of Group A saw GX facing the newly reworked ex-Naventic roster. ex-Naventic would start off by winning the T-side pistol round, giving them an economic advantage over the CTs, however, GX responded back immediately with pistols in the second round to tie the score 1-1. They would then capitalize on this by winning the round that followed before the terrorist side won their first gun round. ex-Naventic were unable to respond however, as GX won the following round.
The CT-side of GX would string together multiple rounds, shutting down the offense from ex-Naventic every round to quickly extend the lead 11-2. ex-Naventic would win the next round, but they were unable to find anything else that half, and trailed it 3-12.
After the sides switched, ex-Naventic managed to win the pistol and the two rounds that followed to decrease the opponent's lead to 12-6. GX responded back immediately however, and won the gun round. ex-Naventic tried to convert the following round in their favor, however a 4K from Braxton "swag" Pierce barred any chances of winning the round.
In the following round, openings from the terrorist side were traded by the counter-terrorists. However, Alex "aproto" Protopapas quickly found himself in a 1v3 situation to save the map. He would find the first two kills after GX planted the bomb, however, he would be unable to clutch it in the end which gave GX the victory 16-6 on Mirage.
