FURIA show life in defeat to Natus Vincere
FURIA have been on a string of poor performance, with Riyadh a hope that their fortunes could change in their second LAN as a new team. That hope shined bright, but not as bright as a potential victory. Facing off against another reformed squad in Natus Vincere, the Brazilians were tasked with trying to prove to the watchful international world that their roster decision and gamble on Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo was not a mistake.
The game opened on FURIA's pick of Nuke, where the Brazilians were immediately put on the back foot as their ineffectual T-side was no match for the defenses of NAVI. A 10-5 T-side for FURIA was not the best heading into the second half, but it did not immediately discount them. FURIA proved that they could not only be just as strong as NAVI on their CT-side, but stronger. FURIA bullied the Europeans in the second half as they came back to secure the second half and win the map 16-11.
Mirage was a much more comfortable map for NAVI as they won the first half 10-5 thanks to their opening dominance, but it was FURIA that proved their worth as they held on until the very end. The Brazilians attempted an incredible comeback with NAVI at the brink of victory, just to fall short and lose the map 16-13.
Finally, FURIA and NAVI headed to Ancient as the two maps were too close to call. However, this map would buck the trend as NAVI finally got their footing and steamrolled FURIA to win the first half 12-3 on their CT-side. FURIA, simply unable to prove their T-side rounds were effective was caught on the backfoot and would not be able to convert anything in the second half as they lose 16-4.
