The Gaming Stadium announce $10,000 Vancouver BashFest
The Gaming Stadium have announced their next large-scale Counter-Strike LAN, set to play out from February 22-23 in Burnaby, British Columbia.
The event will allow for up to 24 teams to take part, guaranteeing a prize pool of $10,000 CAD to the competitors. BashFest will be a non-BYOC tournament, with the entry fee being $100 CAD per player until January 1st. The price will increase by $10 from there, with one final increase to $120 after February 1st.
The tournament will not play out at The Gaming Stadium's Richmond location, with the organizer instead choosing to host the event at Delta Hotels in Burnaby. TGS previously held a 24-team Summer Masters event in July 2019, where Kyle "OCEAN" O'Brien faced off against "OCEAN's Fan Club" in the grand finals.
There, one of the longest offline maps in CS:GO history played out, with the two teams fighting for 65 rounds on Train well into the night before OCEAN was forced to forfeit the second map, a result of an ESEA Advanced playoffs match on the following day and Kory "SEMPHIS" Friesen preparing for an upcoming eye surgery.
The Gaming Stadium also held their first small scale LAN, the TGS Open Series in October, where Gaming Science emerged victorious over Wasted Talent in the grand finals.
Further details surrounding hotels and lodging can be found on the BashFest website, while parties interested in registering can navigate to the tournament's Smash.gg page. Additional information is available through the TGS ESEA post, where questions about the event can also be put forward.
