zevy may already have his sights set on a new home

paiN and zevy part ways

The Brazilian shuffle continues at full-force.

Brazilian sign paiN have announced that they are parting ways with AWPer Romeu "zevy" Rocco. This move marks the end of zevy's nearly year-long tenure with the squad, during which he helped the team to qualify for the recent BLAST.tv Paris Major, among other performances.

zevy was a key component of paiN's rebuild last summer, alongside Felipe "skullz" Medeiros, with the two taking the places of Gabriel "NEKIZ" Schenato and Gabriel "nython" Lino on the squad. The team secured some impressive results during zevy's year with the squad, including a victory at ESL Challenger Melbourne 2022 over Imperial, a playoffs appearance at ESL Pro League Season 17, and qualification for the BLAST.tv Paris Major.

zevy's departure from paiN is just another entry in the laundry list of changes that have occurred in the Brazilian scene in recent months, with the initial rumors of Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo's move to FURIA kickstarting a hectic flurry of swaps. zevy's exit in particular has long been discussed, as a report by GameArena all the way back from June 12th suggested that Fluxo were interested in acquiring the AWPer alongside paiN teammates Vinicios "PKL" Coelho and Wesley "hardzao" Lopes.

While hardzao is supposedly no longer in Fluxo's plans, with Draft5 reporting that the organization is now targeting Henrique "t9rnay" Menacho instead, zevy and PKL continue to be prospective components of Fluxo's revitalized roster. Those three will be reportedly working alongside Vinicius "vsm" Moreira, Lucas "Lucaozy" Neves, as well as coach Joaquin "lokomotioN" Cuevas, who moves into the head coach position following the team's parting of ways with Wilton "zews" Prado.

With only two players and a coach currently left on their active lineup, paiN also reportedly have their eyes set on three new players. Recent reports have linked paiN to FURIA Academy's Kaue "kauez" Kaschuk, Fluxo's Lucas "lux" Meneghini, and Cássio "cass1n" Santos from their own academy squad.

paiN and Fluxo's new lineups are reportedly:

Brazil paiN
Brazil Rodrigo "biguzera" Bittencourt
Brazil Felipe "skullz" Medeiros
Brazil Cássio "cass1n" Santos
Brazil Lucas "lux" Meneghini
Brazil Kaue "kauez" Kaschuk
Brazil Wesley "hardzao" Lopes (Inactive)
Brazil Henrique "rikz" Waku (Coach)

Brazil Fluxo
Brazil Vinicius "vsm" Moreira
Brazil Lucas "Lucaozy" Neves
Brazil Vinícios "PKL" Coelho
Brazil Romeu "zevy" Rocco
Brazil Henrique "t9rnay" Menacho
Joaquin "lokomotioN" Cuevas (Coach)

paiN's new lineup will have some time to prepare once assembled, a consequence of their recent forfeiture of their place in the upcoming IEM Cologne Play-In.
