cxzi out at Party Astronauts
Three months after reforming Party Astronauts, the lineup helmed by Ben "ben133" Smith have elected to part ways with Danny "cxzi" Strzelczyk, marking the end of his most recent stint with a top-tier North American squad.
Party Astronauts reformed in mid-April after Evil Geniuses parted ways with their EG White squad. With cxzi and Connor "chop" Sullivan replacing Jonathan "Jonji" Carey and Khizar "Momo" Rehman, Party Astronauts quickly found success, earning a spot in ESL Challenger Katowice 2023 and finishing top eight in ESL Challenger League Season 45 after falling to ATK. In Katowice, the team only managed to best South African squad Bravado, but have otherwise had a strong run of form, leading to questions about cxzi's departure.
Unfortunately, answers were not forthcoming as ben1337 only told Dust2.us that things didn't work out the way the team hoped they would. Meanwhile, cxzi did not respond to Dust2.us' request for comment.
Dust2.us knows that the squad have been practicing with Momo among other names and will likely be announcing their new fifth in short order.
Party Astronauts are now:
-
Josh "PwnAlone" Pigue
-
Ben "ben1337" Smith
-
Wesley "viz" Harris
-
Connor "chop" Sullivan
PA will need to quickly find a fifth as they are playing in Thunderpick World Championship 2023: North American Series #1, the first event of the second half of 2023.
