ESL Impact League Season 4 dates revealed
With the return of competition in the next week, the ESL Impact scene is also making a return with the fourth iteration of its league. The league itself starts on the 13th of September, but teams will have to first have to fight through qualifiers.
The qualifiers for ESL Impact League Season 4 will run from August 18th-20th and August 25th-27th. If the format doesn't change, the North American region will have four teams invited to the regional league, while the other four have to qualify in order to get there.
Let's start off with some clarifications. ESL Impact League Season 4 has three different stages, the first being the open qualifiers for the regional divisions, which qualify four teams from each region for their respective division. Then, the regional league itself qualifies teams for the LAN Finals, where the best rosters from all over the globe meet each other.
The dates are set for all three different stages, with the open qualifiers happening during the last two weekends of August, the regional stage starting on the 13th of September, and the LAN Finals taking place in Valencia from December 8th to December 10th.
If ESL and Dreamhack decide not to change the format, North America will have an 8-team league that will qualify two teams for Valencia and join the three European representatives, two South American rosters, and one team from Asia.
Last season it was FlyQuest RED and Shimmer who went on to represent the region, and while Shimmer didn't manage to win a game, FlyQuest RED managed to reach the semifinals. Can both teams reach the LAN Finals back-to-back?
