Nifty is looking for a new home after an underwhelming period on Take Flyte

Nifty departs Take Flyte, open to European offers

Nifty may be Taking Flyte from the NA scene.

Former Renegades and Envy player Noah "Nifty" Francis has announced that he will be open to offers as an AWPer and potentially as an IGL, clarifying that his sights are set on Europe. Nifty's decision comes after an unfortunate period for Take Flyte, with the team ultimately being relegated to Advanced after losses to timbermen and BHOP in ECL Season 45 Relegation.

After parting ways with Envy in late 2020, Nifty made his return to competition after an almost two-year absence with ESEA Advanced side 4ORMULA. Although Nifty was unable to breach into ECL with his newfound teammates in Season 44, Nifty ultimately made his way to the region's top league after linking up with Take Flyte, who had themselves just recently qualified after a successful run in Season 44's Relegation, taking down 1 JIN and Mythic en route to qualify.

Nifty's time in ECL ultimately did not pan out too nicely, with Take Flyte notching only a single win over the course of the season, a 2-1 victory over the winless Limitless squad to conclude with a 1-6 record, booking the team a ticket to Relegation. This time around, Take Flyte would not find the same success as before, as although they secured a win over REIGN to kick off their run, losses to timbermen and BHOP would send them back down to Advanced.

In his announcement, Nifty stated that not only would he be interested in offers from European squads, but that moving to Europe would be easy for him and preferred overall. In a related series of tweets Nifty stated that he believes that the North American scene no longer offers the ability to cultivate a career in Counter-Strike, citing lacking scrims as a major issue. Nifty also proposed a potential "Mega-circuit", which would see "a mass pool of competition within Europe containing as many top teams from all regions as possible" as a way to potentially alleviate this issue.

Nifty's departure, alongside Umar "Umar" Qaiser's interest in other options and the recent removal of Owen "SummY" Mustard, leaves Take Flyte with:

  • United States Nick "nicx" Lee

  • United States Liam "xCAPE" Redmond

  • United States Luke "Viathan" Carstens (Coach)

Should Take Flyte look to rebuild their lineup, they will likely be hoping to do it before the start of ESEA Advanced Season 46, scheduled to begin July 11th.

Not even good enough for ECL, nouns deserve better.
