HEN1 replaces ableJ on FURIA
FURIA today have announced the addition of former Luminosity player Henrique "HEN1" Teles as a replacement for Rinaldo "ableJ" Moda.
ableJ had been a member of the FURIA lineup since October 2018, when he was promoted from the academy team as a replacement for Guilherme "spacca" Spacca. During his tenure with FURIA, the Brazilian team rose to notability after qualifying for IEM Katowice 2019 and winning ESEA MDL Season 30.
Following this, FURIA continued up through the ranks, notably finishing 3rd-4th place at DreamHack Masters Dallas 2019 and taking down Astralis at ECS Season 7 Finals. The team briefly reached 5th in the HLTV World Rankings before stumbling at ESL One Cologne and shocking at StarLadder Major Berlin as they bombed out of the New Challengers stage 1-3 following losses to CR4ZY, forZe, and Syman.
The addition of HEN1 comes after the player was released from Luminosity after the organization decided to take a step back from CS:GO.
As for ableJ, the Brazilian youngster will likely be spending a long time on the bench as the whole squad recently signed contract extensions until 2024, though as a result of his benching the price of his buyout has reportedly been reduced by 50%.
FURIA's roster is now:
- Yuri "yuurih" Gomes
- Andrei "arT" Piovezan
- Vinicius "VINI" Figueiredo
- Kaike "KSCERATO" Cerato
- Henrique "HEN1" Teles
- Nicholas "guerri" Nogueira (Coach)
- Rinaldo "ableJ" Moda (Inactive)
FURIA's new lineup will be faced with a trial by fire as they are set to face off against G2 in less than two weeks at DreamHack Masters Malmö which is set to begin on October 1st.
