MDL Recap Week 1 & 2 - ATK on the offensive
The first two weeks of MDL Season 32 have concluded, seeing just sixteen matches played as a result of the overlap with Fragadelphia 13, the DreamHack Masters Malmö Closed Qualifier, and the ECS Season 8 Pinnacle Cup taking place last week.
The new-look ATK lineup had little trouble securing their first two victories of the season, moving up to the top of the board following wins over Mythic and INTZ. New Identity, one of the main contenders for the season alongside ATK, also made short work in their only match played thus far, crushing Just Swing 16-1 on Overpass.
Divine, Rap Gang, and Bushido Boyz also pushed up to the top of the table after winning two of the three matches they played, earning six points apiece to sit just below ATK. Meanwhile, LiViD and Just Swing both opened their seasons with a pair of losses, with neither team managing more than eight rounds combined in their first two matchups.
Shawn "witmer" Taylor's Monstars also had a rough start as their season debut began with them falling 5-16 to Big Frames, leading to the departure of Michael "Swisher" Schmid. A split record with stand-in Nick "alter" Jackson saw the team defeat Mythic 16-3 this past week, but they were not so lucky against The Quest, who put themselves on the board with their own first win to close out the week.
