CLG Red roster officially free agents
Two days ago, the storied organization was reportedly being sold by Madison Square Garden, its parent company. Now, the first player from the CLG Red squad has announced that she has entered free agency, hinting at the legendary tag's departure from the CS:GO women's scene and CS:GO's scene altogether.
The team is currently 5-0 in ESL Impact Season 3 North American division and are headed to the playoffs, where they will fight for one of two spots at Dallas, where the LAN Finals for ESL Impact Season 3 will happen. From what Coline Le "Kaoday" Floc'h tweeted, it seems the squad plans to stick together through the end of their run in ESL Impact Season 3, but the French player is open to offers.
Dust2.us contacted Mounira "GooseBreeder" Dobie who reinforced the will to stick together with the rest of the team throughout the remainder of ESL Impact S3, despite all being free agents. The top priority for the now former CLG Red squad is to find a home for the full roster, which would help the non-USA players retain their visas. The IGL has also revealed that the squad has already been in talks with some organizations.
On an individual level, GooseBreeder told Dust2.us that she is open to offers even from co-ed teams, as well as other all-women's teams. She is sad to see CLG leaving the scene, given all its history and support for the women's scene. Despite this, the former CLG Red player stated that thanks to ESL Impact, she thinks that CLG's departure from the scene will not have a negative impact on the bigger picture, saying "it's just an unfortunate moment".
Earlier today, Greg Kim, Head of CLG, tweeted a heartfelt goodbye letter to the fans of the organization, mentioning that today was his "last day running Counter Logic Gaming".
