Misfits and SK to playoffs; NiP eliminated
The Ninjas in Pyjamas began their campaign on Overpass with a pistol win and a triple by Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund which William "draken" Sundin complemented with his own in the next round. The gun rounds were very back and forth between the two sides, with Shahzeb "ShahZaM" Khan keeping up his big stats from yesterday. Hunter "SicK" Mims also pitched in, with Misfits taking the lead against the Swedes.
ShahZaM kept on his path of destruction, and alongside a quadruple by Sean "seang@res" Gares on the A bombsite, Misfits acquired nine rounds. draken was set on preventing Misfits from getting double digits though, as he powered NiP to win the final round of the half, and end 6-9.
Misfits started the second half with yet another multi-kill by ShahZaM, but NiP barely won the second round with a ninja defuse. François "AmaNEk" Delaunay immediately answered back, leading Misfits to extend their lead against the Ninjas. The Swedes fought back, as Richard "Xizt" Landström helped NiP mount a comeback against the Americans. A huge round by David "devoduvek" Dobrosavljevic allowed Misfits to close it out in the end, taking down NiP 16-13.
Marcelo "coldzera" David kicked off the match against NRG with a clinical quadruple kill on the B defense. A close second round resulted in NRG winning force-buy which the North American side converted into another round. Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte helped keep NRG in control of the game, getting a 6-2 lead on the T side. Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo and Ricardo "boltz" Prass powered their team to some critical rounds, but a big triple by Damian "daps" Steele kept NRG in the lead.
SK weren't content with being behind, as boltz put up a massive defense on A which led to the Brazilian team tying up the game. However, the Canadian in-game leader picked up two huge entries on the B site, which led to an 8-7 half for NRG.
SK took the other pistol round of Cache, this time with a triple by Fernando "fer" Alvarenga, but were not reset in the second. SK held control of the first part of the second half, but Cvetelin "CeRq" Dimitrov won NRG a ninth. The NA side were unable to get anything done in the end however, as SK systematically shut down NRG and took the map 16-9.
These wins secured both SK and Misfits spots in the playoffs, while NiP has been eliminated. SK will play Misfits later to decide the seeding and which team will advance to the semifinals while the other will play in the round of six. NiP, despite being out of the tournament will play against North for a small prize money difference. NRG is still in the running for the playoffs, and will face OpTic to decide who will acquire the final spot in the Sparekassen Fyn Arena.
