Liquid evaporate against the heat of Luminosity
At the bottom of Group A, Luminosity and Liquid fought out who would have the ill-fortune to claim the wooden spoon. The teams fought out on Cache.
Luminosity had the fortune to start the game on the CT-side, and kicked it off with a pistol round win. From there the Brazilians kept rolling on a constant level. Throughout most rounds Marcelo "chelo" Cespedes was clocking up kills in crucial moments to keep Luminosity staying ahead. Liquid were unable to penetrate this armour Luminosity made, with Gustavo "SHOOWTiME" Gonçalves helping to take his team to a 10:0 lead.
Liquid finally made a mark on the game with a fast A-take on a force buy, thanks to a swift Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski opener. They avoid a reset on the following round, as Liquid managed to grab enough rounds to keep them on a run. With Luminosity then on a forcebuy, Liquid were overpowered by the Brazilians' Deagles, with Gustavo "yeL" Knittel effectively single-handedly holding the site before Marcelo "chelo" Cespedes clutched it out at the end. With Luminosity then taking the following round quite comfortably as well, they went into their T-side 12-3 up.
Luminosity seemed to keep their run going, with the Brazilians taking the pistol round. With Luminosity seemingly off into the sunset, Liquid forced up into a set of stronger pistols and seemed to turn the tide. But Luminosity weren't done, using their own forcebuy to win and claim the 14th round. With Luminosity then securing match point, it was Marcelo "chelo" Cespedes to secure the inevitable for his team in style, with an ace. Luminosity took the game 16-4, moving them off the bottom of Group A.
The next North American sides are coming up in Group B, as Misfits continue their run against NiP and NRG take on SK Gaming.
