MIBR plow through CCT North America Series 4
CCT North America Series 4 came on an end on Saturday, seeing MIBR finish playoffs in an utterly dominant fashion, taking down their opponents without dropping a single map in the process to claim the $11,000 top prize.
Throughout this event, which featured the lowest-ranked turnout of the circuit thus far, many matches, especially in the group stage, were forfeited leading to a messy event that only began to pick up momentum later in playoffs during the quarterfinals.
Picking up from that position, there were yet more forfeits as Vendetta and MIBR advanced over yur and timbermen due to roster issues, while Nouns picked up a 2-0 win over EG White, and Detonate fell to Strife 2-0. In the semifinals, unfortunately Strife had to drop out of the event and concede to Nouns due to a scheduling conflict with ESL Challenger League Season 44 playoffs while MIBR crashed through Vendetta to book their own spot in the grand finals.
In the grand finals, MIBR were utterly dominant in proceedings, winning Ancient 16-10 after an 11-4 T-side before picking up Inferno 16-7 with another decisive, 11-4, half on their CT-side this time around.
The final standings for CCT North America Series 2 are:
1. MIBR - $11,000
2. Nouns - $5,000
3-4. Vendetta - $2,500
3-4. Strife - $2,500
5-8. timbermen - $1,000
5-8. yur - $1,000
5-8. EG White - $1,000
5-8. Strife - $1,000
