Third ECS Season 8 Pinnacle Cup qualifier gears up for the final round
Tonight, the quarterfinal matches of ECS Season 8 Pinnacle Cup Open Qualifier 3 drew to a close, leaving four teams standing to duke it out for the two spots in ECS Season 8 Pinnacle Cup in September.
Before matches began, Monstars were able to catch a break as Ascent forfeited since they would be unable to play.
After things kicked off, Rap Gang managed to diss LiViD 2-1, pulling off a reverse sweep after failing to win their own map pick, Mirage. Undiscouraged by a 16-11 loss, Justin "FaNg" Coakley and his crew came back to take Inferno 16-2, then follow it up with a 16-7 win on Nuke.

As for RUNnGUN and Tiny Meat Gang, Tiny Meat Gang prevailed 2-1 after a hard fought series. Regulation ended in a tie on Overpass, but Tiny Meat Gang went on to win the first map 19-16. Nuke played out in the same fashion, although this time RUNnGUN would be the victor. Mirage also saw an overtime, with Tiny Meat Gang winning 19-17.
