A disappointing run in Katowice has paiN heading to Mexico with little to show for

biguzera on roster changes: "I don't know. You guys are gonna see"

A disappointing exit at IEM Katowice for paiN after a fairytale arrival.

Following paiN's disappointing exit from the IEM Katowice play-in at the hands of IHC, Dust2.us' Liam "Slevo" Slevin talked to Rodrigo "biguzera" Bittencourt about the loss, the potential of roster changes for paiN, and the team's goal to qualify to IEM Brazil, among other topics.

Real unfortunate way for you guys to go home against IHC. Tell me a little bit about this series.

I think it was a tough series. We made a lot of mistakes on all the maps we've played here. We made a lot of mistakes, and now we can cry about this and we have to go home and see what we're gonna do about it.

skullz mentioned yesterday that you guys changed some positions around on Vertigo. Are those the only changes you've done, or has there been a lot of shuffling on different maps?

Yeah, we did a lot of shuffling things. We made a lot of changes on all those maps that we play. I don't think they worked very well (laughs). Now we just need to reset the mindset, go home like I said, and we have to change a lot of things.

How do you think skullz and zevy have settled into the team since they joined?

They both are very good players, and very good as people. We like them so much. I think the big difference now from before is the experience. I think the old team was more calm... I don't know if the word is intelligent, but I think the things that the old team did made you think more, and now it's more impulsive. I think these kinds of mistakes we can talk more and more to fix.

What are the plans before EPL later this month?

We are actually going to Mexico. We have the qualifier for IEM Brazil, and we have another tournament that I don't remember right now, maybe the closed qualifier for the RMR, not sure. For sure we are going to change a lot of things; you guys are gonna see. We'll just wait for the next tournament.

Do you anticipate personnel changes as part of these changes, or just team stuff?

I don't know. You guys are gonna see.

When I talked to you back in Cologne, your big goal was qualifying for IEM Rio, but you guys missed out. Is that your next big goal now, just to finally get to play in front of the Brazilian crowd?

Yeah, for sure. I think the Brazilian crowd, we didn't play there, and we felt disappointed, the biggest disappointment of our whole career. We just want to be there in front of the big crowd, and I think it is [our goal].

MIBR and FURIA look like they're going to go on into tomorrow. What do you think the chances are of those two squads making it to the group stage?

I think these two teams are so good. Both teams have their own style. Both teams are aggressive a lot. MIBR have two guys so aggressive, and two fully passive, and the balance is good there, and FURIA we know their style like crazy. Our Brazilian people like to watch them, and we love their style.
