IHC exploit paiN points
paiN, coming off a tough loss against ENCE look to bounce back against IHC, the Asian representative from Mongolia who have continuously proved to be a thorn in the side of Brazilians, especially after eliminating 00 Nation at the IEM Rio Major 2022. IHC, for their credit, have been one of the more unpredictable and aggressive sides in the competition, however, they were handily taken care of at the hands of Cloud9, yesterday.
The matchup began on IHC's pick of Inferno, where the appropriate description of the entire map could be summarized as "chaotic". A back-and-forth first half with neither side really getting any lasting momentum resulted in a split contest with IHC taking the slight advantage 8-7 after a successful t-side battle.
paiN looked to exact their revenge on their own T-side and started it right by winning the pistol, but a second-round loss suddenly put everything into question. The Brazilians were unable to find any sort of stability and rhythm, finding themselves losing the match 16-12.
In what could have just really been a fluke, paiN were now headed to their own pick of Nuke where it was again was a chaotic scene, but now the Brazilians had even more work to do as their ineffectual t-sides were punished over and over again. Losing the first half 5-10 was bad, but what's worse is that it was their own map pick and they had lost the first map. This was now do-or-die.
paiN decided to start off the second half in the worst possible way by losing the pistol, putting them into an even worse position. However, the Brazilians were able to slightly recover and begin their comeback only for IHC to shut the door down at the last possible points, securing Nuke 16-11.
IHC in defeating paiN have earned themselves a berth to the next round where they will have to play against FURIA tomorrow at 01:30PM.
