FURIA do not Permitta loss
The highest-rated team in the ESL World Ranking at the time of the invites faced off against the unknowns from Permitta who earned a berth thanks to a victory in the ESL Mistrzostwa Polski Autumn 2022. FURIA was looking to stop the skid that the Americas was having at the IEM Katowice play-in as they faced off against their Polish opponents on Mirage.
FURIA started out the match hot by winning the Americas' seventh pistol in a row and then successfully taking the next three rounds to open the match with a 4-0 scoreline. Despite Permitta taking the 5th round thanks to a miss-timed bomb plant from FURIA who gambled it all at the last second, they would not be able to capitalize as the Brazilians dominated the entire half to a 11-4 score.
With the Brazilians forced to play defense, they would secure the Americas' eighth pistol of the day. From there, it was just playing clean-up as the Poles were unable to break through any of FURIA's CT setups as Rafael "saffee" Costa and company closed out the game 16-4.
FURIA will be the first Americas team to progress to the next upper-bracket game where they will play the victor of Complexity v. BIG later on today.
