Brazilian delight in NA Conference opener
MIBR might have been on the backfoot with newboy Felipe "insani" Yuji only joining the squad in the last 48 hours, but they certainly did not look it during their matchup against Nouns this evening. In a 2-0 victory, MIBR proved to have the stronger defense throughout Inferno and Vertigo.
The first map began on Nouns' pick of Inferno, where the Americans started on their T-side. The match got off to a flyer as Christopher "cJ" Jones finished off MIBR with a pistol ace and Nouns would only continue the momentum towards a 8-7 T-side scoreline at the half. A strong T-side for Nouns bode well as they headed into the second half.
However, with the sides switched, it seemed like the Brazilians were much more comfortable playing offense. A pistol win was followed up by two successive round wins by MIBR, who were able to run over Nouns' CT-side en route to a 9-2 half that would close out Inferno in a 16-10 scoreline.
Now on Vertigo, Nouns seemed to figure out how to hold their defensive line as they quickly jumped out to an 8-0 scoreline. However, like their 5-1 lead in the beginning of Inferno, it would not last as MIBR slowly brought it back to 5-10 at the half.
Now, it was MIBR's turn to play defense. A pistol win was all they needed to get rolling and ensure that Nouns would not be able to claw their way to victory. MIBR would shut down the Americans and come from behind to close out the map 16-13.
Henrique "HEN1" Teles led the way for MIBR with a 1.48 HLTV Rating that was far above everyone else in the server. The MIBR squad now prepares to play against ATK tomorrow at 09:00PM.
