paiN book CCT NA Series 2 finals ticket
A Brazilian derby between paiN and MIBR would decide the first finalist of the CCT North America Series 2, with the winner facing either Complexity or Nouns. All four of these teams didn't play the swiss phase as they were invited straight to the playoffs.
The map veto welcomed Inferno, Ancient, and Nuke.
Surprisingly, both teams lost their map pick. MIBR won paiN's Inferno after a 10-round CT-side and quick six rounds during the second half. Breno "brnz4n" Poletto ended the map with 28 kills, 130 ADR, and 95.5% KAST. 16-6 was the final score putting MIBR in the lead.
MIBR's Ancient was closer. paiN lost the first half on the CT-side 6-9, as it would seem that the early discussions about the map's CT-side power would suffer a blow. To further cement that, on the back of a 1.24 rated performance from Wesley "hardzao" Lopes, paiN put up 10 rounds against four from MIBR. 16-13 was the final score in paiN's favor.
The series went on to Nuke with paiN carrying the momentum from the previous map and putting together an incredible 13-2 CT-side. MIBR started the second half strong with six straight round wins. After that, paiN went back to winning days and it was too little too late for MIBR. 16-8 was the final score with paiN clinching a spot in the grand final.
