Complexity invited to Finland
Elisa Esports has formally invited Dallas, TX based team, Complexity, to attend the Elisa Masters Espoo '22. Complexity will be the sixth invited team and the eighth announced team for the event which takes place from November 16th through November 20th. The Tiaan "T.c" Coertzen coached side are the only North American squad to have received an invite so far to the strong European-centric event held just days after the conclusion of the IEM Rio Major 2022.
The Finnish event, featuring a $200,000 prizepool also features a direct invite to the Play-In stage of IEM Katowice, an alluring prize for teams that might not earn it through regional qualifiers or ESL Pro Tour points. Complexity looks to compete against a re-building Astralis, and Major-bound MOUZ, ENCE, fnatic, BIG, and others. There are two more invites set to be announced with one more invite for the winner of the Elisa Invitational.
Despite some early highs with the addition of Håkon "hallzerk" Fjærli, the Complexity team have struggled as of late. A blown 2-0 lead at the IEM Road to Rio Americas RMR sent them to a 3-2 qualifier match against Imperial where they lost the final map in overtime. Subsequently, the team were favored to win the BLAST Premier North American Fall Showdown to earn themselves a spot at the BLAST Finals in late November, only to lose 0-2 to lowest placed Sharks.
The squad will be looking to bounce back after some disappointing matches and the Elisa Masters Espoo '22 is positioned to be the perfect test to finish out what has been a strong season overall.
