StarLadder announce Americas Minor closed qualifier invites
StarLadder have announced the invites to the North and South American closed qualifiers that will lead to the Americas Minor for the upcoming StarLadder Major.
Headlining the list for North America are NRG and Cloud9, the latter of which being forced to go through the qualification route after numerous roster changes. Also garnering invites in for the North American Closed Qualifier are the international trio of ATK, FURIA, and Luminosity. Dust2.us knows the South African team were offered a spot in the Central and South Africa Closed Qualifier, but opted to remain in the United States — despite the increased level of competition.
Notably absent are Ghost and Lazarus, who of course are home to Major inelligible players Josh "steel" Nissan and Braxton "swag" Pierce. Whether the two Pro League teams intend to try their chances with stand-ins remains to be seen, though currently neither are signed up for the first open qualifier.
The invites for the two closed qualifiers are as follows:
North America | South America |
ATK | DETONA |
Cloud9 | ex-Imperial |
Envy | INTZ |
eUnited | Isurus |
FURIA | paiN |
Luminosity | Sharks |
NRG | WePlayGames |
Singularity | W7M |
The qualification process for the Americas Minor commence on May 20th with the first of two South American qualifiers. The first of four North American qualifiers will kick-off on May 25th.
