Evil Geniuses make international moves
Evil Geniuses have been in a rebuild after a disappointing run of performances with their previous squad that aimed to re-live days passed. According to a report by neL 1pv.fr, former Vitality player Kevin "misutaaa" Rabier and Kazakhstani IGL Sanjar "neaLaN" İshakov are being targeted by Evil Geniuses. The two new players will replace Jake "Stewie2K" Yip and William "RUSH" Wierzba, the former of which has been embroiled in a public scandal relating to his conduct with former coaches on the team.
Potentially replacing Stewie2K as IGL is neaLaN, who has spent just under the last two years playing for K23. The young team has had a successful run, becoming the fourteenth best team in the world earlier this year and managing to stay afloat in ESL Challenger League through relegation. It will be interesting to see how well the young IGL will be able to cope with the jump into the NA scene.
The second player reportedly joining the team is misutaaa, with his arrival EG's main squad officially lose its identity as an NA majority team. The 19-year-old joins the teams after being a part of the French-Danish Vitality project that failed to reach its own expectations, but with his move to EG, misutaaa continues to compete on an English-speaking roster.
As mentioned, this move does technically make EG's main squad an international roster, however, 1pv.fr believe that they will compete in the American RMR. However, Evil Geniuses would now likely be required to play in the European Regional Major Ranking tournaments, as according to the official Valve rulebook they would be considered as having a European majority following the merger of the European and CIS qualification regions.
According to the report, Evil Geniuses will be:
-
Tsvetelin "CeRq" Dimitrov
-
Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte
-
Timothy "autimatic" Ta
-
Sanjar "neaLaN" İshakov
-
Kévin "misutaaa" Rabier
