cowana send Strife packing from EPL S16 Conference
Strife have been eliminated from ESL Pro League Season 16 Conference after a 2-0 defeat versus cowana. Ádám "kolor" Domoszlay and Armandas "maty" Kneita proved to be particularly difficult for Strife to overcome, with the pair posting impressive 1.46 and 1.42 ratings, respectively.
The series kicked off on cowana's pick of Overpass, with the European mix soon jumping out to an early 6-3 lead on the T-side. A vital 1v2 from Ethan "reck" Serrano proved to be just what Strife needed to get themselves back in the game, allowing the North American side to be just one round behind at the switch. Unfortunately for Strife, cowana hit the ground running once on the CT-side, winning eight of the ten rounds on offer to brush their foes aside and take their pick 16-9.
Inferno played host to the second map of the BO3, with cowana initially getting off to a flying start to boast a 5-1 advantage. Strife soon awoke, however, winning eight of the next nine rounds to end their T-side effort with a comfortable 9-6 lead. Continuing with the theme of T-sided dominance, cowana quickly posted a six-round streak of their own to regain the lead. Strife did manage to find a round of their own to interrupt the onslaught but cowana soon wasted no time in finding the remaining four rounds they needed to steal Inferno 16-10 and live to fight another day in Sweden.
Bobby "stamina" Eitrem's men will now prepare to head stateside, hopeful that their time in Europe can help them in their ESL Challenger League Season 41 playoff campaign.
