PGL Antwerp Major RMR open qualifier registration begins
PGL have announced that teams can now register for the open qualifiers for Antwerp Major Regional Major Ranking events. Those interested in participating in the North American qualifiers will note that PGL have pushed the qualifiers a week back from their original date, with the qualifiers now set to take place from March 10th through March 13th.
Originally, the two North American open qualifiers were slated for March 3rd through March 6th, dates which landed right on top of the days already reserved for the LAN event Fragadelphia 16, forcing teams to choose between a shot at major qualification and accruing LAN experience.
Shortly after the publication of those original dates on February 9th, PGL announced that, upon discussion with teams and other tournament organizers, they would be shifting qualifier dates around in order to prevent overlap and to better accommodate teams. A couple of days later, on February 11th, PGL unveiled new dates for the North American open qualifiers, moving them back a week so as to prevent the scheduling conflict with Fragadelphia 16.
The first North American open qualifier, where four spots in the RMR are up for grabs, kicks off in just about three weeks. This qualifier starts on March 10th at 4PM EST, wrapping up the day after. The second North American open qualifier will only have three teams moving on to the American RMR, with that qualifier set to start on March 12th, finishing up the next day on the 13th.
