Rogue and FURIA advance to StarSeries qualifier semis
The upper half of the StarSeries i-League Season 7 North America qualifier bracket has played out, and sees Rogue and FURIA advancing one step closer to Shanghai.
The first match saw FURIA taking on Ghost, with Josh "steel" Nissan back at the reigns. Unfortunately for the North American squad, their form from ESL Pro League Season 8 Finals was nowhere to be seen, as Andrei "arT" Piovezan and his Brazilian compatriots ran all over them, with Ghost only managing ten total rounds across two brief maps.
The second match of the night saw Rogue playing eUnited, with the former still fielding Jesper "TENZKI" Plougmann in place of Ricardo "Rickeh" Mulholland. Dust 2 was a tale of two halves, as Rogue had a decisive 11-4 Terrorist half, which eUnited were able to mirror, bringing the map to overtime. There, Mathias "MSL" Lauridsen got the better of Pujan "FNS" Mehta, as Rogue swept four straight rounds to take the map.
Perhaps deflated by the close loss in the opening map, eUnited were demolished on Nuke, with Spencer "Hiko" Martin putting up a 2.11 rating.
The qualifier continues tonight compLexity facing off against oNe at 6:00 PM EST. Tomorrow Luminosity will play Envy in the final quarterfinal, and Rogue and FURIA will square off in the first semifinal, also at 6:00 PM EST.
