StarLadder invite Liquid, MIBR and NRG to StarSeries i-League Season 7
After the event and qualifiers were announced last week, StarLadder have announced the first six teams invited to the StarSeries i-League Season 7 event. The seventh event is set to take place in Shanghai, China in the spring of next year.
Three of the six invited teams hail from the North America region. Liquid are the first on the list, with the regional leaders picking up the invite after a relatively successful 2018, where the team have secured numerous top-four and finalist finishes, with the most recent coming at IEM Chicago where they finished second to Astralis.
Next on the list are the Brazilians of MIBR, who will make their first appearance at a StarLadder event in this iteration of their roster. MIBR are looking for an up-swing in their fortunes as of late, with the team last reaching the finals at BLAST Pro Series: Istanbul.
The final North American squad who picked up an invite this time around are NRG, who appear to be good fans of the StarLadder events. With second and third/fourth place finishes under their belts at the previous two seasons, they'll be looking to keep up appearances at the Shanghai event next year. NRG have had a number of good events recently, most recently seeing a win at cs_summit 3, a top four finish at ESL One: New York, before failing to escape the group stage at IEM Chicago.
Liquid, MIBR and NRG are joined in this round of invitations by mousesports, NiP and TYLOO. There are still six invitation spots up for grabs and one qualification spot open for North America, which are set to take place between December 7th-18th.
