StarLadder announce qualifier dates for StarSeries Season 7
StarLadder have revealed the qualifier dates for the recently announced StarSeries i-League Season 7, with the North America qualifier set to run from December 7th-18th.
StarSeries i-League Season 7 features a substantially increased prize pool from the previous two years, now offering $500,000 up from $300,000 in previous years. The event also returns to using a best-of-three Swiss system in the group stage, remaining the only event to utilize the extensively long format. Finally, StarLadder have moved the event from Kiev to Shanghai, and plan to invite 13 teams to the main event — the first of which has already been revealed to be Wild from South America.
The qualifier will be run in a similar format to the StarSeries Season 6 qualifier, seeing eight teams split into two groups, playing through best-of-threes in the GSL group stage. Two teams from each group will advance to the playoffs, where they will face off against an additional four invited teams through a traditional single-elimination bracket to determine the qualifying team.
