Renegades announce USTILO departure
With the WESA deadline now passed and the next season of ESL Pro League set to begin next week, Renegades have announced that departure of Karlo "USTILO" Pivac from the organization. USTILO originally replaced Luke "Havoc" Paton on Renegades' roster back in 2016, and stood as one of the team's longest standing players alongside Aaron "AZR" Ward and Justin "jks" Savage.
USTILO's departure is likely in relation to Renegades' upcoming roster overhaul, with the team set to officially bring on Jay "liazz" Tregillgas and Sean "Gratisfaction" Kaiwai in the coming days. USTILO leaving Renegades also puts the team's fifth player into question, as the team are now left with only four permanent players on the roster.
One of Renegades' options are to stick with Joakim "jkaem" Myrbostad, who was originally signed on a six-month contract as a long-term standin. As the player still remains on the team's ESEA roster, it is likely that jkaem will continue playing with Renegades going forward.
Renegades' roster for the upcoming season of Pro League will likely be:
- Aaron "AZR" Ward
- Justin "jks" Savage
- Joakim "jkaem" Myrbostad
- Jay "liazz" Tregillgas
- Sean "Gratisfaction" Kaiwai
Renegades are set to play in ESL Pro League Season 8, which is set to kick off on October 2nd. The new season of EPL will feature their new roster, which is set to get announced following the WESA roster lock.
UPDATE: USTILO has opened up about leaving Renegades on Twitter through a TwitLonger.
In his statement, USTILO stated that he has no hard feelings towards the organization cutting him and that he originally wanted to step down multiple times over the past two years, but ultimately chose not to in every instance.
USTILO has also stated that he is currently a free agent and is seeking to find a team within North America. With the WESA deadline now passed, it is unlikely USTILO will be able to find another Pro League team, however it is likely multiple MDL teams will reach out to him in the meanwhile.
