floppy replaces montE on Torqued
Former Beacon player Ricky "floppy" Kemery will replace Neil "montE" Montgomery on Torqued, Dust2.us has learned. The young American last played ESEA Premier Season 25 with the core of what is now Mostly Harmless, where he finished the season with an 8-8 record. He left the team in August, and has been searching for a new team since.
montE had previously played with Trey "tck" Martin and Josh "steel" Nissan in Torqued in 2014, but after steel and teammate Derek "dboorN" Boorn were banned by Valve, he was relatively inactive, briefly playing for Enigma6 and Synthetik/ex-Synthetik in Seasons 24 and 25 of ESEA Premier, respectively.
Team captain steel has provided a statement, saying that:
Neil wasn't going to be in CS for the long haul since he wants to go for his PhD, so we needed someone that can bring higher short term success.
With this change, Torqued now have this roster:
- Sam "4sh0t" Mariano
- Josh "steel" Nissan
- Armeen "a2z" Toussi
- Trey "tck" Martin
- Ricky "floppy" Kemery
The now majority American team is currently competing in ESEA Premier Season 26 where they have a 5-6 record. They also notably lost to ex-Morior Invictus yesterday in a surprising upset on Cache. Their next match will be against Rise Nation tomorrow evening, and will be streamed on ESEA's Twitch channel.
Note: An earlier version of the article mistakenly listed Torqued's record as 6-5.
