CLG move on to Upper Bracket Final over compLexity
The second semi-final of the day started on Cache, where CLG won a straightforward pistol round. They cleaned up the next two as well, but the next rounds in the game were very close. CLG were able to close out the majority of the rounds, including a 1 on 2 by Ricardo "Rickeh" Mulholland in round 9. coL finally got some rounds on the board thanks to consecutive mutli-kill rounds from Jaccob "yay" Whiteaker and Peter "ptr" Gurney, but were only able to secure four total by the end of the half.
ptr began the second half with a critical triple kill to put up a fifth round for his team. The second round went down to the wire, with yet another clutch, this time by Rory "dephh" Jackson, going towards the compLexity side. However, the first gun round was taken by CLG and compLexity was unable to get anything going for the rest of the map, giving a 16-7 scoreline for CLG on Cache.
compLexity secured the first round on Inferno with a fast B play despite the quadruple kill from Kenneth "koosta" Suen. CLG fought back in round 3, winning the eco round, and converted it into two more. Round eight came down to a 1 on 3, and dephh won another clutch for his team with just a CZ-75, which led to coL upping their total rounds to seven. The final rounds of the half came down to clutches, and CLG won most of them, resulting in an 8-7 half.
The fourth pistol round of the series was a clean sweep by CLG and after winning the following two rounds, they were put in prime position to take the series. The compLexity side were unable to string more than one round in a row until rounds 23 and 24, minimizing their round deficit to only two rounds. CLG eventually closed out the map thanks to some great reads by Pujan "FNS" Mehta 16-13.
CLG now move on to face Misfits in the Winners Final later today, in which the winner will move on to Grand Final and claim a spot at the ELEAGUE Boston Major Main Qualifier.
