SK head to ESL One Belo Horizonte semifinals
SK secured a 2-0 win over Space Soldiers to head to the playoffs of ESL One Belo Horizonte, at a very noisy Mineirinho Arena in the Brazilian city.
The decider match of Group A was the first in the stadium, starting off on Cache where it was SK who took the best start. A strong T-side saw Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo and co. keep Space Soldiers at bay for an 11-4 lead. But the Turkish side weren't out of it, with Buğra "Calyx" Arkın pushing his team ahead to keep it close. With Space Soldiers managing to bring it back to 15-14, close to forcing overtime, the Brazilians ensured the game ended there for a 16-14 win.
Dust2 was second, and it was a much more one sided match. With Marcelo "coldzera" David and Jake "Stewie2K" Yip being the stronger performers on the map, with the former hitting a 1.77 rating, SK bounced back from a pistol round loss to take an eight round lead at the half for a 10-5 lead. The second half continued the domination, only dropping one round on their CT-side, for a 16-6 win.
This result sends SK to face mousesports in the semifinals tomorrow at 1:50pm EDT. The next match in Belo Horizonte will be BIG taking on Liquid, before the semifinals and final take place tomorrow.
