NTC find their way out the BIG door, mouz to playoffs over Liquid
The second day of action down below in Belo Horizonte has concluded, mousesports being one of the first teams seeded into playoffs.
Wrapping up the elimination matches after Group A’s match yesterday, BIG and Não Tem Como duked it out for a chance to stay alive in the tournament, with the latter playing in front of their home audience.

On the first map of Train, Não Tem Como and BIG remained neck-and-neck, with BIG just barely getting the lead in the first half with an 8-7 scoreline. The Brazilians immediately turned it around in the second half thanks to a great performance from Lincoln “fnx” Lau, only letting one round slip in the second half before flipping the map’s scoreline to 16-9, bringing them 1-0 in the series.
Não Tem Como continued on their win streak, taking control of Overpass in the first half with a 10-5 scoreline, conceding five rounds in a single streak. In a twist of fate, BIG turned the tides in the second half with help from Johannes “nex” Maget, winning eleven rounds while only losing two to close Overpass in their favor 16-12, bringing the series 1-1.

In the decider map, BIG dominated the Brazilians in front of their home crowd on Dust2. After Owen “smooya” Butterfield finally woke up, the Brit went on a massace with Johannes “tabseN” Wodarz, with both players accumulating 50 total kills in twenty rounds, with a 16-4 scoreline taking BIG to the Group B decider match and showing Não Tem Como the way out the venue.
The last series of the day came in the form of mousesports vs Liquid, with the former team fielding North America's very own Jordan “n0thing” Gilbert as a stand-in for the event. On Inferno, mousesports and Liquid were closely matched as both teams traded rounds with Keith “NAF” Markovic Robin “ropz” Kool being the star players for their respective teams. In an odd parallel to other series at ESL One: Belo Horizonte, mousesports sternly took the second half by storm, conceding only two rounds to Liquid to save equipment, ultimately winning Inferno 16-9.

On Train, Liquid were unable to find form as mousesports dominated the trainyard. Despite five round wins for Liquid scattered across the game, mousesports stood tall with Miikka “suNny” Kemppi and Chris “chrisJ” de Jong leading the Europeans (and American) and securing a strong 16-5 victory on the second map, firmly giving mousesports the series 2-0 and a playoffs spot. Liquid have been knocked down to the decider match, where they will rematch against BIG, who the North Americans had previously knocked down in the opening matches.
The action resumes tomorrow at 10:00 AM EDT with SK vs Space Soldiers, followed by BIG vs Liquid at 1:50 PM EDT.
