ESL announce teams for Cologne Closed Qualifiers
ESL have announced the invited teams for the ESL One Cologne North America closed qualifier, joining eUnited and compLexity who secured spots in the open qualifier earlier this month.
First up on the list are the Australians of Renegades, looking to notch another tournament appearance under their belt after securing a berth in Kiev for the StarSeries i-League Season 5 Finals, which is set for this weekend. Their co-qualifiers, NRG, are also invited to this closed qualifier, as they look to continue their strong online form with new coach Chet "ImAPet" Singh now on board.
The other two teams invited are Luminosity and OpTic. The start of the month saw Luminosity pick up a spot in DreamHack Valencia, over eUnited, as well as see themselves included in the ECS finals next month. OpTic on the other hand are looking to see if the Danish concoction can continue, having recently been knocked out of the ESL Pro League finals in a close match against SK.
