Freedom 35 Toy with winning more MDL matches, drop montE to add TenZ and Toy
Freedom 35 are set to compete in Season 28 of ESEA's MDL with Tyson "TenZ" Ngo filling the recently vacated slot of Ian "Tex" Botsch, who left the Freedom 35 roster early last week to join The Entourage. Sources also inform Dust2.us that David "Toy" Han will replace Neil "montE" Montgomery on the team. montE made a return to CS:GO in August of 2017 following a period of inactivity, and has been playing in MDL since Joshua "steel" Nissan returned to professional play. The reason for montE's depature remains unknown.
The move follows lackluster results from the Freedom 35 core, who found themselves narrowly escaping relegation in Season 27 with a 16th place finish. The team has often found themselves competing in qualifiers for various events, but made little headway after encountering MDL teams above their caliber throughout their brackets.
TenZ was bounced on and off of the BlackOut roster throughout Season 27, and now looks to ply his trade on Freedom 35 while developing his skills further. The seventeen-year-old has impressed in FACEIT's Pro League by making numerous appearances in the top ten players over multiple weeks, and can now continue applying his skills in Season 28 as he looks to hone his skills.
Toy has most recently been seen standing-in for 5POWER, with the team falling 1-3 to PRIDE in the grand finals of the Legends Cup in Santa Ana. His last appearance in MDL was in Season 25, where he competed alongside David "Xp3" Garrido on Denial to finish in ninth place.
Freedom 35's roster now consists of:
- Sam "4sh0t" Mariano
- Victor "food" Wong
- Ryan "Winsum" Johns
- Tyson "TenZ" Ngo
- David "Toy" Han
