Torqued win PreGame launch tournament
The launch tournament for the new training and competitive hub, PreGame, has come to a close, with Joshua "steel" Nissan's Torqued taking down Bravado in the grand finals 2-1. Their earlier semi-final saw them also snag a 2-1 victory over Mythic after playing through 101 rounds, seeing two overtimes alongside a full thirty-round game.
The whole team contributed to the tournament victory over the day, with Keven "AZK" Lariviere and Kenneth "koosta" Suen starting the day slow to end the grand finals at the top of the board.
The recently arrived South African side of Bravado continues to show that they can compete against MDL-level teams as they claimed a 2-1 victory of their own earlier in the day over F1-racecar-PEEK. The team also recently qualified for ECS' Challenger Cup, where they'll compete against the likes of Rise, Rogue, compLexity, and Splyce for two spots in the North American division of ECS Season 5.
With the top four consisting of Torqued, Bravado, Mythic, and F1-racecar-PEEK, the $2,500 prize pool was distributed as follows:
1. Torqued - $1,500
2. Bravado - $750
3-4. Mythic - $125
3-4. F1-racecar-PEEK - $125
The ECS Challenger Cup is set to begin on March 2nd, where Bravado will try their hand at making it into a major league.
