North moves on to final over Cloud9
Clou9's map pick of Train started off terribly for the Americans, as they immediately were down 8-0 on the CT side. This half (and map) mainly consisted of Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke running over Cloud9, as Tarik "tarik" Celik could only lead his players to four CT rounds. North didn't stop once they swapped sides, and they quickly closed out the map 16-6. This is quite the surprise, as Train is historically a weak map for North and arguably the strongest for Cloud9.
North once again got off to a fast start on Cobblestone, again racking up 11 rounds on the harder side. René "cajunb" Borg dominated the CT side with his AWP at the statue on B site, and shut out C9 from making many B plays. Despite failing the pistol round again, Cloud9 started to mount a comeback from their CT side led by Tim "autimatic" Ta, who notable had a poor first map. Eventually, Mathias "MSL" Lauridsen found a crack in the defense, and finished off the second map 16-11.
The grand final between North and Immortals will take place later today, where they will fight for the first place prize of $50,000.
