Immortals eliminate CLG; To final
On Train, CLG had a rough initial start despite winning the pistol round, winning all four from the series. Near the end of the half, with Ethan “nahtE” Arnold leading the pack, CLG got into a groove and won out 10-5 from the CT side. Starting off the second half, Pujan “FNS” Mehta led his team to a 13-5 lead. From here on out though, CLG were unable to break through the defense of Immortals, with Ricardo “boltz” Prass and Henrique “HEN1” Teles stopping them seemingly every round. In the end, Immortals managed to squeeze out a 16-14 victory.
It looked like CLG had mentally recovered from the heartbreak loss on Train, as they quickly took a 6-0 lead off the back of Ricardo “Rickeh” Mulholland’s good play. Lucas “steel” Lopes figured something out in the CLG defense, and by the second portion of the half, had managed to turn it around and win 8 rounds before the side switch. In the second half, the CLG Terrorist side could never get going, as FNS seemed mentally destroyed, partially seen through his unusually bad performance this map.
Immortals will now await to play the winner of North vs Cloud9 in the grand final of DreamHack Open Montreal.
