CLG Red qualify for Intel Challenge Katowice 2018
CLG Red have come out on top in the NA qualifiers, after a few days break due to overlap with the WESG qualifiers. The final saw them defeat silhouette 16-7 on Train and 16-2 on Mirage for a 2-0 scoreline.
Last year, the girls ended up in 4th place after losing their first playoffs match against Dignitas. This followed on from topping their group, against the likes of LDLC fe and the former Team expert.
Their opponents in the 2018 edition will see them come up against fellow North Americans Dignitas fe, as well as former member Christine "potter" Chi who joined familiar international foes RES. The group draw for the competition will take place before the tournament begins.
The tournament will take place on February 23rd and 24th in Katowice, with a $50,000 prize pool. The full list of teams are:
RES | Dignitas fe |
ARES fe | LLG |
Keyd Stars fe | Unknown |
Squared fe | CLG Red |
The victory will perhaps do something to help remove the sour taste from the team's mouths after failing to qualify for the WESG World Finals over the weekend. Despite being the only non-mix participating in the North America Regionals, CLG were overwhelemed by Stephanie "missharvey" Harvey and Those Damn Canadians.
