Liquid draws Falcons in ESL Pro League S21, aided by disrespect from Eternal Fire

Team Liquid's ESL Pro League Season 21 run will begin against Falcons in the opening round of stage two.

Following the conclusion of stage one, all 16 teams competing in stage two subjectively ranked all the other teams. After the ranking scores were tallied, the teams were seeded into round one matchups. Falcons and Liquid were actually the closest ranked to each other, with Falcons ranked 8th while Liquid was ranked 9th.

Here are the full round one matchups, including the seeding determined by the teams' own rankings:

• Falcons (8) v. Liquid (9)

ESL also posted each team's individual rankings of the other teams. Liquid for the most part was ranked in the 7-10 range, save for a couple of outliers. Spirit listed Liquid at 5th, but Eternal Fire had them ranked way down at 14th, only above TYLOO. According to ESL, this was the biggest rankings outlier from all 16 sets of team rankings.

Liquid's match against Falcons is scheduled for the end of round one on March 7, at 12:00PM.
