COL are still hunting for their first Bo3 win of 2025

What to expect from Complexity v. Virtus.pro

Another difficult map for JT and friends.

After a 0-2 trouncing by The MongolZ, COL are back in action tomorrow against Virtus.pro. As the team are still on the hunt for their first notable win of the season, VP will be another tough customer as the team proved quite capable at the IEM Katowice 2025 play-in. Even if they don't win, it would be great to see an activated Complexity where all five players have something to contribute on at least one map.

COL PLZ

It's been a rough time to be a COL fan, with the team on a 0-9 loss streak against notable opponents. A win here against VP would be fantastic or at least a sign of life as COL's gamble on young talent has yet to show signs of life.

  • JT was the only player fragging against The MongolZ

  • COL's map pool fares poorly against VP

  • We really really need to see hallzerk in action tomorrow

Virtus.pro rising?

While VP suffered a 2-1 loss to 3DMAX to open up Cluj-Napoca, they have overall been doing well with Denis "electroNic" Sharipov at the helm. I expect Complexity to find a tough customer in VP despite a close online debut for the team at the BLAST Bounty Spring 2025: Closed Qualifier.

  • electroNic has had a decent tenure with the helm of VP in 2025

  • FL4MUS had a stinker of a series against 3DMAX to open Clug-Napoca

  • The IEM Katowice Play-in shows VP is capable of beating teams of COL's level

Previous Matchups

Complexity lost their 2025 debut to VP at the BLAST Bounty Spring 2025: Closed Qualifier.

Likely Vetoes

As always, these vetoes come with the caveat that they are highly speculative as they depend on whether Virtus.pro, as the higher-ranked team, chooses to pick first or ban last. We will assume they ban last.

  • Complexity ban Mirage (Permaban)

  • VP ban Nuke (Permaban)

  • Complexity pick Ancient (Most played map)

  • VP pick Dust2 (60% Winrate)

  • Complexity ban Inferno (Two maps played)

  • VP ban Anubis (40% Winrate)

  • Train as a potential decider

Analysis: Complexity's current map stats are awful and they are yet to win a map this year on HLTV, so some wishful thinking went into this veto. The problem is that COL aren't really comfortable on any maps at the moment without Vertigo, and as such VP is going to have a lead any day. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Complexity will take on Virtus.pro tomorrow at 06:00AM.
