Cloud9 exit Counter-Strike again
The Cloud9 organization released team manager Aleksandr "sweety10" Shcherbakov and coach Konstantin "groove" Pikiner today, confirming another exit from Counter-Strike.
"With their departures, C9 is taking a step back from Counter-Strike 2," the organization wrote on X. "While we have no immediate plans to re-enter, we love CS and are always on the lookout for opportunities."
Since the conclusion of the 2024 season, following Cloud9's early exit from the Perfect World Shanghai Major, the organization has been moving on from all its players:
-
Kaisar "ICY" Faiznurov was acquired by Virtus.pro
-
Sergey "Ax1Le" Rykhtorov and Kirill "Boombl4" Mikhaylov were acquired by BetBoom Team
-
Nikita "HeavyGod" Martynenko was acquired by G2
-
Timofey "interz" Yakushin was released
During the process of winding down operations with their most recent roster, the organization made several hints towards a possible return to North America. Former Major winner Timothy "autimatic" Ta hinted on X at reforming the ELEAGUE Boston-winning team, but the team's most recent statement clearly states there are "no immediate plans."
