Shimmer find a new home with Supernova
Charlotte, North Carolina-based organization Supernova have announced the signing of ESL Impact squad Shimmer, seeing the team conclude their organization search after spending the previous four months in free agency. The signing follows Shimmer concluding a fairly compressive shuffle that concluded with Phoebe "phoebe" Winter returning to Australia while Sylvie "Serendipity" Splaver and Victor "Ink" R. joined to complete the roster.
Supernova's entrance into the ESL Impact scene is a small reprieve against what has been a tumultuous time for the the women's Counter-Strike scene, with the likes of ENCE, Astralis, TSM, NAVI, and Spirit all recently releasing their teams due to financial sustainability concerns.
In the NA scene things have been more of a mixed bag, with Ghost and now Supernova entering the scene while Nouns.fe's future remains uncertain as the team have been unable to win over the support of the Nouns DAO.
With their new Comets lineup, Supernova are likely betting on Lucy "empathy" Verkaik leading the team to the ESL Impact League Season 7 LAN Finals in Dallas. Their chances have been buoyed by NA having two LAN spots once again after Season 6 only offered a single spot for NA teams.
Supernova Comets are now:
-
Lucy "empathy" Verkaik
-
Wrenna "Stx" Trampel
-
Raven "raven" Sol
-
Lydia "Fawx" Dalton
-
Sylvie "Serendipity" Splaver
-
Victor "Ink" R. (Coach)
Supernova Comets are currently making their debut in CCT Season 2 NA Series 4 playoffs against Tsunami.
