M80 co-founder leaves organization

One of the key faces behind M80 has left the organization.

Yesterday, M80 co-founder and co-owner Nate Schanker announced his departure from the American organization, somewhat vaguely stating that he had left the organization to pursue a "new opportunity" that he plans on announcing in the near future.

The departure of Schanker from M80 comes less than two years in the organization's history, with M80 being founded on December 8th, 2022. The organization founded by Schanker and Marco Mereu initially competed in VALORANT before expanding out to other titles including Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Overwatch 2, and Rainbow Six: Siege.

As noted by Schanker, his work with M80 pushed the brand to become one of the fastest growing organizations in North America, with the organization's decision to sign a CS:GO team in mid-2023 increasing their reach while hosting a lineup that is currently ranked 25th on the Valve Ranking System (VRS) and is widely considered one of the best squads in the Americas.

It is currently unknown what Schanker's next venture is set to be and whether it involves esports at all, however a reply post from Mereu suggests that the role will likely be "outside of esports".
