What to expect from the M80 v. BESTIA rematch

Let's try this again.

M80's opening match at the Thunderpick World Championship couldn't have gone much worse, as the top 20 globally ranked squad was thoroughly embarrassed by BESTIA. BESTIA confidently took Mirage 13-5, then ravaged M80 on Anubis 13-1.

M80 did manage to recover, locking in a victory against Aurora to set up a pivotal rematch against BESTIA. A win would mean advancing to the playoffs, while a loss means an early exit and an earlier start to the team's EU boot camp ahead of the RMR.

It's time to wake up, M80

With that opening loss over and a win under their belts, hopefully, M80 can take care of business against BESTIA. M80 went right back to the maps they lost on during their Aurora series, with Mason "Lake" Sanderson performing more in line with what viewers had expected from him.

  • Avoid the early deficit

  • Lake needs to make an impact

  • Play confidently

Can BESTIA do it again?

BESTIA were lights out against M80 the first time around. Martín "tomaszin" Corna has been the driving force for this team in recent months, and he stepped up in a major way, going 35-13 in the series and posting a 1.95 HLTV rating against M80. Unfortunately for BESTIA, they could not keep up with the firepower on BIG in their advancement match, and now have to go through M80 again.

  • tomaszin and luchov are locked in

  • Blowout win could give BESTIA a mental advantage

  • M80 could be looking too far ahead to boot camp and the RMR

Previous Matchups

BESTIA dominated M80's opening match yesterday, 13-5 on Mirage and 13-1 on Anubis. Prior to that match, the current rosters for each team had not played each other.
