Lake and M80 rebounded later today

M80 survive Thunderpick scare

An up-and-down first day in Europe.

M80 was not eliminated from Thunderpick on the first day, but the vibes are not high. The American squad started off today on the wrong foot with a 2-0 drubbing against BESTIA. While M80 recovered with their victory over Aurora, fans might still be concerned about the team's performances for the day.

The matchup against the Russian squad was shaping up to be a repeat of M80's match against BESTIA with both Mirage and Anubis coming through once more.

As Mason "Lake" Sanderson explained in the post-match interview, the team decided to pick into Anubis once more since they knew their performance against BESTIA was a one-off. The plan seemed to work out for M80 as the team were dominant in their two maps wins this afternoon.

M80 took control of Mirage with a 13-9 win that was precipitated by a 9-3 first half, but did not have a similarly strong first half on Anubis. Aurora were still close in the game until the second half when M80 turned on the jets and put the Europeans to bed with a 13-6 victory.

The Americans are now scheduled to play against the loser of BIG v. BESTIA tomorrow.
