MIBR secure Lucaozy as brnz4n moves to the bench
MIBR have officially acquired Lucas "Lucaozy" Neves from Fluxo, with the 22-year-old Brazilian rifler replacing Breno "brnz4n" Poletto within the team's ranks. The move, which was first reported by Dust2 Brasil on September 4th, comes at a somewhat awkward time for the Brazilian lineup as MIBR have just claimed a top-four finish at ESL Pro League Season 20, which saw the team claim wins over the likes of Spirit, M80, and HEROIC.
However, as the move has been in the works for sometime, it must be considered in the context of MIBR's struggles in recent months, which has seen the team face a lull in results after winning ESL Challenger Melbourne in late April. Since then, outside of their EPL result, MIBR have been muted in their recent international and domestic showings, with the team also missing out on their domestic homestand, IEM Rio 2024, after falling in the South American qualifier to Imperial.
In acquiring Lucaozy MIBR aim to bring in a piece they have long coveted with Lucaozy also considered to be a hot prospect in the Brazilian scene. The rifler currents boasts an impressive 1.23 rating over 217 maps in 2024 and has the potential to significantly boost MIBR's firepower.
The team's ability to lock down Lucaozy on their third attempt comes as the team look to qualify for their first Major in two years at the upcoming Perfect World Shanghai Major Americas RMR in November.
