T.c is ready to get down to business

What to expect from Complexity v. Liquid

It's, kind of a battle of NA?

Complexity decided to take the absolute hardest path possible in qualifying to this point of ESL Pro League. They lost the "easier" games when playing M80 and BIG so they were forced to beat MOUZ twice, Astralis twice, and then FaZe in the first round of the playoffs.

Meanwhile, Liquid just had to beat ENCE and Virtus.pro as they directly qualified to the second round of playoffs following a 1-2 loss to Vitality in the seeding match.

The true-American lineup has had the additional maps to work out the kinks in their gameplay that seems to have plagued them in recent times, but Liquid is much more rested as they have had the time to prepare for this afternoon's game.

Complexity Clutching up

"LOOK AT ME RICKY" was what Mason "Lake" Sanderson screamed to Ricky "floppy" Kemery as the third-best NA squad shocked the world with their upset on the opening day of ESL Pro League. Since then, Complexity have had to fight with their backs against the wall against squads like MOUZ and Astralis. They've succeded above and beyond what was thought possible as the team now face another tough opponent in Liquid to advance to the quarterfinals.

  • Grim and hallzerk are stepping up in massive ways

  • This is no longer just the EliGE show

  • Ricky "Cut The Anchor" Floppy is finding his groove in Malta

Liquid with Little Issues

It's almost like you're just waiting for Liquid to really fail. They finished in the Top 8 at IEM Cologne, they've qualified for IEM Rio, and they're comfortably a Top 10 team in the world. Roland "ultimate" Tomkowiak is seamlessly fitting into the squad and the matches they play don't make fans feel like an inevitable collapse is coming.

  • ultimate is Liquid's best player so far

  • NAF has shockingly been Liquid's weakest over the five maps played

  • YEKINDAR has a 1.17 HLTV Rating in Opening T-Side attempts

Previous Matchups

The two are comfortable friends with Liquid coming out the better end in recent times. With the current lineups Liquid pulls ahead as the winner having won a 2-0 at IEM Cologne 2024. With Complexity seemingly figuring out how to play against the big tier opponents recently, it's anyone's guess as to who will win.

Likely Vetoes

Who needs Vertigo? Definitely Complexity. They beat FaZe without it, but they needed it for Astalis and MOUZ. With Liquid banning Vertigo all the time, Complexity will likely need to be prepared on their other favorites.

  • Complexity ban Mirage

  • Liquid ban Vertigo

  • Complexity pick Anubis

  • Liquid pick Ancient

  • Decider is Inferno

Liquid has a 100% win rate lately on Ancient while Complexit have had some comfortability on Anubis, however that map is a strength for Liquid. It's going to be a weird game today but Liquid certainly has the advantage overall.
