It all comes down to this

What to expect from the Complexity vs. MOUZ rematch

One more time, all or nothing.

An up and down showing at ESL Pro League Season 20 has placed Complexity in a do-or-die situation at the culmination of Group C. The North American team has one final chance to punch their ticket to playoffs, and will have to defeat the top five globally ranked MOUZ roster again to do so. Complexity has already shown that they're capable of winning a rematch after dispatching Astralis, but this will be their greatest test yet.

Complexity stay clutch when it's close

Complexity has seen three maps go to overtime while at ESL Pro League Season 20, but they've managed to keep their cool and close out all three. Interestingly enough, their previous win versus MOUZ has been their only decisive victory all tournament, needing no overtime and keeping MOUZ to single-digit rounds in on both Nuke and Vertigo. In a rare feat, Complexity managed to win the Astralis rematch despite a subpar performance from Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski. Håkon "hallzerk" Fjærli has been splendid on the AWP, and both Ricky "floppy" Kemery and Michael "Grim" Wince (not Wallace, sorry Grim) have crucially stepped up their play.

  • Complexity don't need a big EliGE game, but it would still be nice

  • Decisive win versus MOUZ last time

  • Everyone has stepped up in big moments

MOUZ finally looks like MOUZ

MOUZ's victory versus Fnatic is the first time all tournament where the roster has played to the level that was expected of them. Ludvig "Brollan" Brolin, who looked terrible all event, went +11 on Vertigo and +10 on Mirage, with Ádám "torzsi" Torzsás going +21 as well as MOUZ held Fnatic to just eight rounds all series.

  • MOUZ is officially in the house

  • Lessons learned from previous Complexity matchup?

Previous Matchups

Complexity defeated MOUZ 2-0 earlier this tournament, 13-8 on Vertigo and 13-6 on Nuke. Prior to that victory, MOUZ had won all four previous matchups this year.

Likely Vetoes

  • Complexity ban Mirage (Permaban)

  • MOUZ ban Anubis (Permaban)

  • Complexity pick Vertigo (Go-to map)

  • MOUZ pick Inferno (MOUZ has had better luck here)

  • Complexity ban Ancient

  • MOUZ ban Nuke

  • Decider is Dust2

This should be a much closer series this time around, as Complexity likely aren't going to catch MOUZ asleep at the wheel again. Vertigo is still a strong point for both teams, so whoever wins there is in good position to take the series.
